Vignettes are mandatory and are available to buy at the border, most petrol stations and offices of the CI and DZI Bank. You can buy them for periods of a week, a month or a year

Vehicle laws:

Speed limits on motorways are 130 kph, 90kph on main roads and 50 kph in built up areas. The maximum speed you should drive with snow chains is 50 kph.

Dipped headlights during the day are compulsory

Fire extinguisher, first-aid kit, warning triangle and reflective jackets must be carried

Keep your speed down on minor roads due to unexpected potholes

Wild camping rules:

During winter, stopping at "TIR" truck parking areas may be the only option

Wild camping is illegal, but out of season town squares or car parks should be ok.
